Boulevard Bridges (United Arab Emirates)

Structural executive design of the “Boulevard Bridges” based on an architectural design by RFR-Peter Rice. The bridges are inserted within the Al-Raha Beach Development along a new artery that crosses the new district by crossing the canal. The intervention includes 4 bridge complexes as described below. CRB-14 (81.00 m long) with 2 5-lane bridges (28.45 m wide) and one LRT bridge (16.30 m) for surface trains. CRB-16 (81.00m) with a 4-lane bridge (24.80m), a 3-lane bridge (21.15m) and LRT bridge (18.80m). CRB-19 (81.00m) with 2 3-lane bridges (21.15m) and one LRT (16.20m). CRB-20 (81.00m) with 2 3-lane bridges (21.15m) and one LRT (18.84m). the three bridges of each “Boulevard Bridge” are side by side and outside there are 2 pedestrian walkways. The structure of each bridge consists of two steel arches with a network of cables that support the longitudinal beams on which the transverse beams are welded onto which the collaborating concrete slab is cast.
