Projects

New Google Headquarters, 550 Washington Street (USA)

Activity

Analyses and design of precast wall panels considering operations in pre-casting yard and construction site; construction stage analysis of precast cores considering erection phases segment by segment, and verification of segments during stages under effects of prestressing bars and lateral loads induced by wind and earthquake.

Descrizione

The new Google’s campus is located at 550 Washington Street in Hudson Square NY – the former freight terminal, St. John’s Terminal. The project involves a gut renovation of the existing building and the addition of eight new floors that nearly triples the structure’s height from 80 to 232 feet high.

The main structure of the building are two concrete cores, which are made up of 284 precast segments of wall panels and joined by steel prestressing bars that runs throughout the entire cores both vertically and horizontally.

The activities carried out by BOLINA, besides the BIM modelling, are including the analyses and design of precast wall panels considering operations in pre-casting yard and construction site, construction stage analysis of precast cores considering erection phases segment by segment, and verification of segments during stages under effects of prestressing bars and lateral loads induced by wind and earthquake
