Determination of the overall risk index of the work based on visual inspections

Description

The Cairo Ring Road represents the most important freeway artery in the Greater Cairo metropolitan area, with a population of more than 30 million. Built since the 1980s, it surrounds the central area of Cairo and Giza.

The Ministry of Infrastructure is interested in control, efficient management, and optimized maintenance strategies to be applied on one of the country’s busiest roads in order to limit possible flow disruptions as much as possible.

BOLINA was commissioned to propose a comprehensive management model for the infrastructure work through expeditious risk index assessments and the determination of intervention priority indices.

Pilot project for this activity is represented by Bridge 9D in Giza on which speditive risk assessment procedures, FEM analysis, dynamic characterizations of structural response were made applied.
